Common problems when replacing toner

One of the concerns that some customers have is that they just bought a brand new toner or brand new drum, they took it home, installed it and they still have poor copy quality.

They have lines, they have void image, or they have pure black copies. One of the things that you need to do is make sure that when you are installing a new drum unit, that you remove all packaging.

9 out of 10 times there is a piece of tape, or a strip that wasn’t removed which is the cause of the void image, or a pure black image.

Another thing that you need to look for is that sometimes there'll be a pile of toner on the image unit. Take a damp cloth and remove it when you install the new toner.

We talked about the corona unit. The corona unit 9 out of 10 times gets toner on it. It will have spots; it'll have dots on the paper.

Just take the corona unit and clean it back and forth 2 or 3 times, and then put it back. You should have good copy quality now.

There is an odd chance that maybe a drum unit goes bad, but we pride ourselves on having the best product, the highest quality of aftermarket product.

So if you have any other concerns, you can call us. We have a full service center here Monday through Friday.
